Our Client

From its inception in the early 1980s, Folláin has been a family-run business. They share their passion for good food and eating well through their dedication to making delicious preserves. Folláin is the Irish word for wholesome. What better way to preserve tradition than to make a traditional preserve?

The Challenge

Telling the story of Folláin while showcasing their amazing jams and preserves in the right settings was of primary importance. The client had a keen eye for composition and visual context, this helped us execute the brand’s vision through a series of carefully planned photoshoots both on location and in the studio.

Apart from being part of supermarket online shopping, buying and gifting jams and preserves online is a relatively new idea. We were tasked with creating a truly unique online experience where users can buy and gift jam online in a novel way that communicates this unique idea to the user.

The Solution

Working closely with the Folláin, we developed a seamless buying experience through subtle animation that allows the user to visually create their own custom box of jam in an engaging way. On top of this, we tell the rich story of Folláin through an interactive timeline as well as showcasing recipes, product information and store locations. The website is presented in Irish and English versions, is optimised for performance and has a high standard of accessibility, best practice and SEO standards.

The project beat off stiff competition to win Best in eCommerce at the 2023 Spider Awards.
