Friday is looking for a senior Web Developer

We’re looking for an experienced senior Web Developer to strengthen our development team and work on some exciting new projects. The role covers a growing range of technologies and is a great opportunity to work on new challenges with some interesting clients. Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Resourceful and collaborative problem solving skills
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a web developer preferably in an agency environment
  • Solid HTML(5), CSS (SASS / LESS), CSS Grid & Flexbox and JavaScript
  • Experience with a JavaScript frontend framework (Vue.js, React or Svelte)
  • Experience working with a team to schedule projects, evolve processes, create project specs, proposals and quotes
  • Experience with PHP development
  • The ability to write clean code using modern standards
  • Experience integrating payment services such as Stripe, Global Payments (Realex) & Paypal
  • Experience communicating with APIs
  • Git / Subversion or other version control experience
  • Experience with the WordPress CMS and custom theme development
  • Familiarity working from design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, and/or Adobe XD
  • Understanding of image compression and optimisation
  • Ability to communicate effectively with UX designers, technical and non-technical teams as well as directly with clients
  • Ability to manage, move, back up and create new web/cloud environments
  • Troubleshooting and debugging desktop, Android & iOS browser issues
  • Strong attention to design detail when marking up HTML/CSS
  • Willingness to learn new technologies

Organisational Skills

  • Experience in working directly with clients and ability to communicate with them simply and effectively
  • You have ability to manage and motivate a small development team
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • You are highly motivated and passionate about coding and technology
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, multi-task environment but are also comfortable working independently
  • A process-driven approach to development with a focus on testing your work before anyone sees it
  • Take responsibility for tasks, projects and priorities to ensure they are delivered on time and to high standards
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and our digital team

Desirable Skills

  • Experience developing websites and applications with PHP
  • Knowledge of Jamstack methodologies (Headless CMS, Server Side Rendering)
  • Experience working on headless CMS like Contentful or Storyblok
  • Experience with Nuxt.js / Next.js
  • Experience with domain and DNS management
  • Experience with Linux platforms/shell commands
  • WooCommerce experience
  • Node.js
